BT has announced the introduction of a new system of alarms, which will help it cut down on the number of incidents of theft which regularly compromise its telecommunications infrastructure in the UK.
Businesses across the country rely on BT’s services for broadband and unified communications, but if criminals have deliberately acted to steal the copper wiring which powers many of its products, then it can be an issue for various enterprise customers and one which is not quickly resolvable.
Catching the culprits, who sell on the copper to scrap dealers in order to make their money, is also problematic, particularly if a fast response is not possible.
